How to microwave an artichoke
I may be the last person on earth to learn how to cook an artichoke in the microwave, but in case I'm not, here's how to do it.
This what you start with:

Cut the bottom stem off and square off the top.You don't eat the tops of the leaves anyway. I found that using a bread knife made this very easy

Put it in a microwaveable bowl and lid, in my case I used a stoneware bowl and a glass plate:

Put about a 1/4 cup of water in the bowl and microwave on high for 9 minutes.
When I take it out of the microwave I use a paper towel to save my fingers from being burned while I open up the flower to cool it off faster. Bliss is funner when it's fast. Enjoy!
