Another hectic (but fun) weekend in front of me. Dinner with my long time pal Priscilla tonight, a hockey game Saturday night, and the jewelry show in San Rafael Sunday with sushi in Sausalito afterwards. Got my H1N1 shot today and I want to get this day over with.

"At large"

The phrase "at large" is only used when describing criminals who aren't caught yet. I guess it's because when they're caught, they're "in small". ? I don't know. Newscasters pronounce "details" as deTAILS, whilst us commoners say DEtails. Annoying.

It's a Cadillac XLR Roadster. It has a retractable roof and a Corvette engine in it. It's kickass.

I blow kisses at my new roof these days as I leave for work in the morning. The amount of rain we're having is stunning. Of course we're going through another El Nino cycle, I just got solar panels.

Moxie, who turned 12 two days ago, and I went for a run in tonight's downpour. We were drenched by block two. We're both squeaky clean and ready for bed now. Yay tomorrow is Friday.

I'm exhausted

And it's not even Monday yet. Friday had a fun night but it ended with a dead battery in my Mountaineer, when I was really tired and just wanting to go home. Bright side, it was almost convenient the way it happened.
Saturday was the annual Christmas dinner with Rhonda and Pua, but this year it was lunch. We went to McCormick and Schmicks, which I usually like, but the bugs in the soy sauce and the yucky Washington Apples were not what I have come to expect there. We had a great time anyway, since we were there for over three hours. !!
Saturday night I went to the car show in San Jose, which I always enjoy, even though it's been getting smaller every year. The low rider area was new to me, I was really unable to comprehend what the hell I was looking at. Here, what would you make of this?

Dinner at Hawg's didn't disappoint. I love their baked oysters asiago.
Today it was all about chores, and getting a new battery. I have just now sat down for a rest from a very long day of laundry, housecleaning, shopping. Yuck.
Now for a run with mah doggah.

I cooked the butternut squash that Moxie captured for me

I was inspired by my friend Rhonda, who showed me how to microwave butternut squash at work, to learn how to cut up the darn thing. She cut her hand cutting the squash the night before, so I was certain I would too. I googled it. I got this youtube video. It helps if you have sharp knives, which I apparently do not. I did muscle through it safely and good gawd, this stuff is awesome. I added cayenne pepper, butter (fake) and salt. It's kickass. And, according to this site,
it's got a great calorie ratio and a bajillion times the amount of vitamin A you would need in a day.

2010 rules so far

December 30th, after scoring some very cheap Cava from Cost Plus World Market at lunch, I drove back to work, and bumped the nose of my Corvette into a white curb in the employee parking lot. I was so mad, being so thrifty on my champagne buy, to have done something so potentially expensive to my car.
