As if Moxie didn't get enough toys
She decided to take on a butternut squash while I was at the movies last night. I think the squash won.

Wings and a Movie
Sherlock Holmes was really fun to see at the theater tonight. Before that I had kickass wings and a ride in a beautiful Pontiac Barracuda. Right now I'm eating pumpkin seeds and watching Monk. Good times.
Christmas 2009
Yay, it's over. Now I get to look forward to the new year. Onward and upward I always say. 2009 was a bit of a challenge for me. Good riddance.
I took a picture of this amazing flower arrangement I got for Christmas. It is gorgeous.
I don't know if they smell nice because I have my Christmas Cold. I did make it outside yesterday to go to my friend's annual open house for Christmas. It was good to see everyone, but I think I was home by 8:30. Oh well, tonight is another party to celebrate Boxing Day, at the Andersons'. I am resting up for that right now.

This new laptop is humbling
It took me 40 minutes to find the "on" button the first day I got it, and last night well over an hour to find the button, which isn't really a button, that locks the touchpad.
The on button is on the right in this photo, in the spine.
These buttons, which I am constantly dusting off, I did not know were buttons. I thought they were indicators, and nothing more, since they're flush with the rest of the surface and backlit. I kept dusting off the buttons and inadvertently toggling off things, like the touchpad, the internet, the speakers, etc .
I feel so lame.
But not so lame I don't love love this laptop.
I'm sitting by my fireplace, watching "The Wiz" which is blowing my mind. Why I don't remember more of it is weird. The second scene looks like the inside of a giant pinball machine.
Today was frustrating at work, we had two, yes two, fire drills. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

My fireplace rocks
It just got cleaned, and passed inspection. Yay. The damper needed adjusting too, and now, no more smoke in the house. Yippee. Moxie loves it too.

Bedroom upgrade
Boy did I have a weekend. I went to Target last night with my internet printouts, and snagged a clerk there to go get a big cart. I got this new dresser, two matching nightstands, and the TV on top. All three items, $700. Imagine my horror, when my credit card was declined after I had the clerk load up the cart for me. Apparently, Chase didn't like me buying a laptop, and then shop at Target in the same day. Luckily, I had my aforementioned American Express. WHEW!
I spent today putting the dresser and two nightstands together. The TV is spectacular.
Now, I get to clean up and go eat Mediterranean Food in Los Gatos. I'm starving.

17.3" laptop
is on its way. In cherry red, with 4GB ram and two year warranty. It'll be a ha yuge upgrade from my 8 year old laptop or 7 year old desktop. It was only 700 dollah, which cracks me up. This old laptop I'm typing on cost a little less than $3000. Wowers.
Impressed by American Express
They were great when I first got their card in 1998, and then they went through a sucky period where I didn't like their service. Some issue I had with Paypal and eBay years ago, they were supposed to be better than VISA and were not, when trying to fix an online problem.
When I used to run my web design business, they would not give me a business account, but they let me get a separate card, which cracks me up. What the hell is the difference?
I recently noticed my old one had expired. I called to get a current one issued, and they treated me like a rock star. They had it overnighted to my house. Overnighted. WOW.
I think it's funny to use this card.

yay Refi
Got a terrific rate (4.6) yay on my refi. I think as a treat and an XMas gift to myself, I shall get a new laptop. My existing laptop, is 8 years old. Yes you read that correctly, 8 years old. It has had its hard drive and battery replaced, and that's it. It weighs ten pounds. I just now, while writing this post, took it into the bathroom and stood on the scale holding it to weigh it. Ten effing pounds. Other than that it's fine. Do I really need one? Maybe not, but if I find one with a large screen for a decent price I will get it. The screen on my current Dell Inspiron 8100 has two cracks along the bottom back case.
I went to Rooster T Feathers in Sunnyvale last night. Wow how fun that was. I haven't been there in maybe 10 years, so I forgot how fun it could be to go there. The comedians were great, I was impressed. I had two Rooster Juice s and now I remember why I don't drink sugary drinks. I have a bit of a headache that is getting better as I drink my coffee. I slept in until 10:30 !!!!! Quite possibly my personal best without being sick.
Now if the sun would come out before I go to my golf lesson with Jan that would be great.

Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one.
What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards.
Tiger Woods wasn't seriously injured in the crash, but he's still below par.
What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2.30 in the morning? They went clubbing.
Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. He couldn't decide between a wood or an iron.
